I am a MSc student who focuses in using remote sensing applications to classify riparian forests of the Okanagan Basin. As a member of the Earth Observation & Spatial Ecology Lab, I have not only enjoyed learning about how LiDAR and spectral datasets can explain riparian topography, forest structure, and reflective properties, but have also enjoyed practicing the use of the programming language R to process, model, and visualize spatial data. Additionally, I have relished in getting to visit countless creeks and forests of the Okanagan Basin, allowing me to attain my own understanding and connection to the riparian areas of the Okanagan.

Before starting on with the department of Earth and Environmental Sciences here at the UBC Okanagan, I focused in geomatics while attaining my undergraduate degree in Geography from the University of Victoria. My passions lie with spatial data, and I find great joy in discussing, helping with, and leading projects that involve spatial questions and components.

Growing up in Victoria, B.C., I developed a love for the outdoors and an inquisitive mind about landscape processes. Through my educational experiences and passion for alpine hiking, I have found great pleasure in identifying plants, wildlife, and glacial geomorphologic landscape features in my spare time. When not getting lost in the mountains, I enjoy hockey, music, and perfecting homemade gnocchi.

I feel grateful for this opportunity to further my knowledge in spatial sciences, and I am truly inspired by all of the fascinating projects and people that are part of the Earth Observation & Spatial Ecology Lab.
